Deep-Water Rescue
welcome to the Days Inn courage me from our daily bread from Arthur Jackson and I title today's reading deep water rescue
a record rainfall more than tripled what was forecasted in Waverly Tennessee in August 2021 in the wake of the powerful storm 20 people lost their lives and hundreds of homes were destroyed had it not been for the compassion and skill of helicopter pilot Joel Boyer's the loss of human life would have been even greater the pilot took flight in response to a phone call from a woman was concerned about her loved ones in addition to sing houses on fire in cars and trees lawyers noted it was nothing but muddy Raging Waters below me the pilot however bravely proceeded to rescue 12 people from the roofs of their homes
more often than not and life the swirling floods we Face aren't literal but oh how real and days of uncertainty and instability we can feel overwhelmed unsafe in over our heads mentally emotionally and spiritually but we don't need to Despair and some a team we read how David's enemies are many and mighty but his God was greater how great so great and powerful that he used multiple metaphors to describe him that was mighty enough to rescue from Deep Waters and strong enemies how great great enough for us to call upon him in the name of Jesus regardless of the volume and depth of the water surrounding in life
today's our daily bread devotional scripture reading is from Psalm 18 verses 1 to 3 and verses 16 to 19
I Love You Lord my strength the Lord is my rock my Fortress and my deliverer my God Is My Rock in whom I take refuge my shield and the Horn of my salvation my stronghold I called to the Lord who is worthy of praise and I've been saved from my enemies now I'll pick up at 4:16
he reached down from on high and took hold of me he drew me out of deep Waters he rescued me from my powerful enemy from my foes who was too strong for me they confronted me in the day of my disaster but the Lord was my support he brought me out into a spacious place you rescued me because he delighted in me
shall we pray
strong saving rescuing God in the midst of our distress when life's waters are raging grant us the faith to see you and cleave to you in every storm thank you Lord It's in Jesus name we pray amen
