hello my friends and welcome back to the morning mindset I'm so glad you're with me my name is Carrie green I am here to help you get your mind aligned with the truth of God today we're going to be looking at Proverbs 30:5 in 6 and I want to ask a favor of you today if you can stop right now and think carefully about someone you know who could use an encouragement for the morning mindset from the scriptures every single day would you just pause this episode and share with that person the morning night that you could share this episode even using your pockets player or app in the sharing function there you can help make a difference in the life of someone else along the lines of how the Morning Light it's made a difference in yours I would love for your friends to know thanks are today we are looking at Proverbs 30:5 26 let's read together it says every word of God proves true
 he is a shield to those who take refuge in him
 do not add to his words less he rebuked you and you be found a liar
 obviously this section of scripture is focusing on God's faithfulness his truthfulness his Integrity in the things that he says and friends we don't recognize it right away when we talked about truth and we talked about truth from God's perspective
 but God's truth is a protection to us God's truth is a solid foundation upon which we can stand notice what he says in the first verse he is a shield to those who take refuge in him and when we think of God as massive and mighty the Creator and we think ourselves running to him and taking refuge in him as this first described we can easily see how he is a refuge to us he can be one to protect us because he has the strength in the power in the might deduce out but we need to stop and notice that imagery of him being a shield for us is tied into the concept of his truthfulness let's read the entire sentence it says every word of God proves true he is a shield to those who take refuge in him
 so while we're being told here is that our refuge our place of Refuge is in the truth of God not just in God himself
 every word of God proves true he's a shield to those who take refuge in him friends we live in a world that is upside down with craziness and we're being told all kinds of things are true that are not true we're being pressured to agree with those things at that threat of losing their social status losing our job losing our whatever you know there's all kinds of pressure put on us as Believers in Christ but the reality is God's reality what God says is true is what is true as her friends when we return to the scriptures to find our place of definition so to speak of what is a man what is a woman of what does Godly leadership look like and what does it not of who is Jesus Christ Our Messiah at King of the universe friends will go back to the Bible to find those definitions we're going to find a place of Refuge
 an implied in this is that he will protect us I know there's all these feelings a friend and an uncertainty when we think about standing up against the Allies in our culture but friends God says he will protect us he is the one who will stand in that place of defense for us now as we going to 46 we continue to see how important it is to maintain a faithfulness to God's truth it says do not add to his words less you rebuke you and you be found a liar
 now this is something it's not only a cultural phenomenon this also makes its way into the church where teachers in the church for a variety of reasons add to God's word or twisting meaning of God's word to appeal to a certain demographic or a certain cultural expectation in Friendswood cannot do that if God rebukes us as we are twisting his word there's no stronger rebuke we can get and this is not just the kind of rebuke where you know he's going to slap your hand this is the god of the universe would dealing about a twisting his words friends let us not be found guilty of that sort of thing let us stand confidently in his truth taking his truth as our Shield of Refuge
 Lord Jesus please enable us to see the powerful
 place of protection that your truth is it to align our hearts with it an English word to be people who stand in that truth or unwilling to waiver into into watery down enable us to do so with Grace with humility with compassion for those who are caught up in the lies on the other side but as your people Lord in the evil us Empower to be truthful as you are truthful to hold for your truth has the standard of reality and ride them wrong so that we you mean people who Shine the Light of Jesus you know they ended a war we ask is today in Jesus name amen
