I don't know about you but I grew up in a church tradition that emphasized spiritual warfare to the point that it almost felt like behind every Bush there was an evil spirit and I lived in fear that I would unwittingly open the door to evil in my life have you ever been afraid of that
 you're listening to the prayers of Wrath podcast and I'm your host ashrita choo choo this season we are resting in the promises of God and today is specifically trained through God's promise to protect us from evil so if you've lived with that fear that evil is out to get you and that you always have to be watching your back I hope you take the time to listen and pray with me as we rest in the promises of God so take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of that the loving presence around us and within us
 today's passage comes from 2nd Thessalonians 3:3
 but the Lord is faithful and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one
 so let's begin by reciting God's goodness
 Lord of Light you were the one who by your death broke the power of him who holds the power like that you're the one who freed all of us who live in you who were held in slavery by our own fear Lord Jesus you disarmed the powers of darkness and you made a public spectacle of the Cross. Good you are
 cute concrete evil through your death through your resurrection and you are the one who is able to rescue us from any evil attack you are the one who guard us and protect us and Hold Us secure in your love God we praise you that we have nothing to fear because you are the Lord of Light because you are in control because you are all-powerful and nothing and no one and all of creation can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our lord so good you are to us
 to take a moment now to reflect on this promise that God will protect you from evil and praise him for who he is and for how he's already done that in your life
 let's continue Now by expressing our in eating ass
 God we confess that so often we still live in fear
 we still give the enemy too much of our attention too much of our time instead of fixing our eyes and our hearts on you Lord Jesus we become afraid like Peter looking at waves instead of gazing on you so got to make our hearts too fast
 help us to rest in your love help us to rest in your power to rest in your Victory Lord Jesus on the cross in your death in your Resurrection back to life you are victorious
 guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus with your peace that passes understanding and we pray also for loved ones who do not yet know you who are not yet a part of your family died with you deliver them with you rescue them from the power of Darkness got it with you snatch them from death and bring them into life
 free help me at to stand in the gap for my loved ones help us to put on the armor of God
 that we might take our stand against the evil one not in our own strength not in our own power but in the strings and the power in the mighty name of Jesus Christ you have already won the battle so help us now to stand
 and I'll tell God then me of that feel most heavy on your heart today who are the ones that you were praying for ask God to rescue them match them
 to bring his peace and their lives and in your life 2
 next we seek God Stillness
 in the next few moments I invite you to ponder what areas of your life feel like they're under attack
 what parts of your home or your relationships feel like the enemy is targeting his fiery arrows against you bring each one of those individually under God's protection under his authority under his rulership stand firm in him in a rest in his presence knowing that you are safe and secure in your father's powerful arms
 feel free to pause this episode if you need more time to be still with him
finally that's trust God's faithfulness
 Lord Jesus you are the one who freed us from the domain of thin and fear and death you are the one who rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and got you will continue to rescue us from every evil attack you are the one who will bring us safely into your heavenly Kingdom what you started you will be faithful to complete to the end
 I still be resting you today we trust you to be faithful to finish this good work
 and when our hearts start to be afraid
 God we will remind ourselves that you are trustworthy and true that yours is a victory and we stand protected in the mighty name of Jesus and by his Precious Blood you were faithful you were true
 and he will finish God we trust you
 so how'd you end this time of prayer to clear your confidence in God's faithfulness reminding yourself that God is who he says he is and he will do what he said he will do in the world and in your life 2
 now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy to the only God our savior be glory and Majesty power and authority through Jesus Christ Our Lord before all ages now and forevermore amen
